We're back from vacation and trying to get our life sorted out. Most everything is put away. The laundry is washed, but there are eight baskets of it to put away. How did we go through so much clothes? And I did laundry while we were on vacation.
We took our usual trip to Nisswa, MN to visit Grandma and Grandpa. The kids had a blast swimming in the lake and playing with all the treasures Grandma had found at garage sales for them. My son learned to cast a fishing pole and caught his first fish. It was one of those moments when you can't wait to tell someone something and then you remember that they have passed on. My dad would have loved it. My daughter played tea party with her cousin and danced to Johnny Cash music in the park and the Little One is a dare-devil on the slide off the dock. I got a lot of reading done: Dangerous to Know by Nell Dixon, Lifeline Echoes by Kay Springsteen, and two-thirds of Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. I also got a chance to write. It's amazing how much you can get done when there isn't an Internet connection readily available. The worst part of vacation was that I was sick with a cold the entire time. At least it didn't stop me from enjoying the sun. I have tan lines from my swimsuit for the first time in years.
In other news, Astraea Press is having a sale through the end of the week. Sucker for a Hot Rod is available for $1.99. You can't beat that!
Hope you all have a great week.
Welcome back! Sounds like you had some great times. I know what you mean about wanting to share things with someone who's no longer there. Kinda sad.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to see my story available at AP soon!

Patty, I can't wait for your story to come out!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. Hope the meeting Saturday goes well. I won't be there. My schedule has been crazy lately and I need to cut back.
