“Dennis’ll be a happy man. Say, he said you’ve been asking about that old Pinto he’s got parked in his barn. What would you want with that hunk of junk? You’ve got a truck.”


Bryce closed the access panel on the tractor and tightened the wingnuts. “I was thinking it might be a good figure-­‐‑eight car.”

    I'm reading this book right now. Not RIGHT now, I'm doing computer stuff now, but I'm 27% done according to Kindle. LOVE IT! You should be the next Susan Mallery. I'm serious.

    My mom had a Pinto when I was very young--she drove it until there were holes in the back floorboards...we used to throw my little brother's old toys through the hole to see what would happen! Great six!

    Bglashbrooks - I bet your mom loved that. My brother had a truck where the floorboards rusted away too. Made climbing in and out of the cab a bit dicey. :-)

    Had pinto beans once or twice. My spouse even owned a Pinto horse once but never owned a Pinto car. Yeah, they'd make a great figure-eight car, just don't get hit in the rear end

    Thanks everyone for stopping by. I could be mean and say you have to buy the book to find out what a figure 8 car is for, but I won't. :-)

    I figure 8 race is a cross between a car race and a demolition derby and the track is in the shape of an 8 instead of an oval. You use pretty much the same cars that you would for a demolition derby. They are a lot of fun to watch. Our county fair has one every year.
