Fridays off the Wall with Kendall Evans

Today I'm welcoming fellow Astraea Press author Kendall Evans.  She has two new books Anna's Shattered Faith and Promise to Laura. After reading through her website, I've found she is a very busy woman.  Where does she find the time to produce so much?  I'll have to bug her for hints.

Who would you cast as the main characters in a movie of Anna's Shattered Faith?
I’d love to have January Jones (from Mad Men) for Anna as I saw her in the movie based on Janette Oke’s book, Love’s Enduring Promise, and she did a wonderful job as Missie. And because I recently saw him in a western and he was fabulous, I’d choose Dean Cain for Daniel.

What’s one hobby readers would be surprised to know you have?
I don’t know if readers will be surprised, but I restore old furniture and usually give it away. It’s relaxing for me, and I don’t need any extra furniture in my house which is why I give it away!

I have a couple chairs in my basement.  Can I send them to you? What one thing would make your writing space perfect?
A personal robot to bring me sodas and snacks as needed!

When the power goes out, what do you do? (Cell phone service is out too.)
First, I try not to panic. I’m very much a 21st century woman. I love technology and all things associated with it. Depending on what time of the day it is, I’ll take my laptop and head out the door to find some place that does have power, or, I go sit in my car and plug the laptop into my battery. J
If it’s later in the evening, I’ll just break out the battery-operated portable DVD player and watch a movie, or I’ll read by flashlight.

What do you do to celebrate a book sale?
I call all my friends the day before to remind them the book is releasing as well as the day of. They’re always faithful to send congratulations and have been kind enough to follow my career (as I’ve written in other genres under a different name). Then we all go out to dinner the night of the book release.

More about Anna's Shattered Faith:
The day Anna Hampton's husband, Zach, was killed was the day she lost her faith. Ranger Daniel Cochran represents everything she doesn't like. Not only is he a lawman, but he's a God-fearing man like Zach. His faith might work for him, but the only thing Anna saw it do was get her husband killed. The Ranger’s presence grows more and more welcome, especially when danger lurks around every corner, and Anna is caught in the middle.

  2. I have to admit I was definitely surprised about your furniture restoring! But you write historical novels, so I guess a love for history transfers over into that part of your life. Great interview!
